Britley Little with Anna’s House Foundation is a woman of many talents and a big heart, leveraging her many skills across the community. Serving wherever she goes, this Edmond resident can be found building relationships and loving people.

Q: Do you live in Edmond, work in Edmond, or both?

A: I lived in Edmond from 2014 to 2017 while attending UCO. Shortly after graduation, I was offered a position at The Anna’s House Foundation (AHF) in Edmond, where I have worked for the past 5.5 years! My husband and I lived in downtown OKC from 2018 – 2021, and while we enjoyed our time there, we knew we were ready for a change, desiring a “small town” feel. We officially made Edmond our long-term home in the spring of 2021, and we have loved putting down roots in this fantastic community!

Q: Where did you grow up and go to school?

A: I grew up in Norman, OK, where I graduated from Norman North High School! After taking a Gap Year, I obtained my Bachelors in Family Life Education from The University of Central Oklahoma.

Q: What did you do before working with Anna’s House Foundation?

A: I tell people I have a short resume… The Anna’s House Foundation was my first job after college! I have loved it so much that I haven’t left. Previously, I was involved with UCO’s Homecoming Week and Freshman Orientation Week.

Q: How did you get involved with Anna’s House Foundation?

A: Growing up, I knew I wanted to help vulnerable populations thrive, but I wasn’t sure what that looked like. Homelessness? Human Trafficking? Addiction? I was open to just about anything, but what wasn’t on the list was “Foster Care,” which the Lord ultimately led me to in 2017. After interviewing at a few places that didn’t seem the right fit, I looked at the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits job board. I saw an open position at The Anna’s House Foundation for their Community Outreach Coordinator. I was offered the job 4 days before Christmas, and I remember excitedly sharing with family at holiday events that I had my first “real job”! After four years in this role, I became the Director of Community Engagement in January 2023!

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A:  As cliche as it sounds, the people. I always say I have the “fun” side of foster care, as I get to partner with churches, businesses, and schools to bless foster families of Oklahoma! Working for a non-profit, I wear several hats throughout the year, which always makes for exciting days. In some seasons, I am fundraising, planning foster family events, or going live on TV to promote AHF, and in other seasons, I am rocking a newborn

Foster baby to sleep or play tag in our foster family neighborhood. Serving foster families in our community bring me the utmost joy, and I love partnering with like-minded individuals to further the mission of Anna’s House Foundation, to provide immediate, stable and loving homes for Oklahoma’s foster children.

Q: What’s something you’re passionate about in your personal life?

A:  I love videography! Instead of scrapbooking, I like to put together short videos of my year, a trip, or a memorable weekend. I have also filmed weddings for the past 6 years, and it’s an honor to be trusted with such sweet memories! My Christian faith is essential to me, and being part of LifeChurch for the past ten years has shaped every aspect of my life. You can find my husband and I volunteering at the 8:30 am service on 178th and Penn every Sunday!

Q: What do you like about Edmond?

A:  What I like most about Edmond is running into people I know wherever I’m at! The community seems small but big at the same time. I find the people of Edmond are incredibly philanthropic, as several Edmond businesses, churches, and schools regularly host drives for Anna’s House, sponsor tables, and donate auction items for our annual gala! We have a saying at AHF, “Not everyone is called to foster, but we are all called to do something for foster children in our community.” The people of Edmond live this out daily as they support our organization in many ways!

Q: What is your number one tip for other professionals, either for work or life?

A: Say “yes” often! You never know what can come from a networking event, conference, evening at a gala, or coffee shop meet-up. My favorite blessings have resulted from hesitant “yes”s, and I’m so thankful for the people it has connected me to.
