Dryer Vent Cleaners serves and educates Edmond homeowners

Most homeowners don't know the importance of keeping their dryer vents clean—and the dangers when they don't.

Dryers need to vent properly to dry your clothes and stay efficient. Over time, lint and debris will clog your vents and prevent the heat from escaping, leading to more energy usage and fire risk. Dryer Vent Cleaners provides safe, quick, and reliable dryer vent cleaning in Edmond and the surrounding areas.

Steps and services

Most clients don’t have a good understanding of how their dryer is vented and don’t know lint buildup is even an issue. With every load of laundry you dry, lint escapes along with the hot air and deposits itself inside your dryer vent. Over time this causes a buildup and will restrict airflow, causing your clothes to not dry as quickly and can increase the risk of a house fire.

Continuing to run your dryer with a clogged vent can cause damage to your dryer and end up in a costly repair. Professional-grade tools help to safely remove the lint from inside the duct and clear the path for good airflow.

“When I had my dryer vent cleaned, I was shocked to see all the lint,” said Eric Boggs, owner of Dryer Vent Cleaners. “That is when I became a believer and saw the real need for this service.”

Dryer Vent Cleaners service technicians first inspect duct connections, lint screens, exterior vent screens and louvers, and areas around the dryer. They then use professional brushes, extensions, and tools to clean the entire duct and lint screen.

The company can also replace damaged connections, such as the flexible duct from the dryer to the wall or the exterior vent cover. After service is complete, technicians will ensure the dryer is reconnected, check airflow, and clean the area around the dryer.

In most cases, cleaning takes less than an hour, and their work is guaranteed for up to six months.

Passion and purpose

As a teacher, Boggs worked various side jobs during summers, but a friend was looking for a technician for his company, and he gave it a shot. After a year and a half, the opportunity arose to buy the business, and Boggs took it.

“I never dreamed of owning my own business, but many of my past experiences and connections came together and helped make this happen,” said Boggs.

Around the same time he started with Dryer Vent Cleaners, Boggs took a mission trip to Cuba. Meeting the people and seeing the difficulties many of them face sparked a passion for him to find ways to help.

“We are using some of the profits to help support a family and the small church they run out of their home in the southern coastal town of Trinidad,” said Boggs.

Along with helping others, the company’s ultimate goal is to deliver the sense of well-being customers can get when they know their vent is working correctly.

“I enjoy interacting with the customers and helping them fix their problems,” said Boggs. “The longer you do anything, the more you learn, the more connections you make, and the more you can improve your business.”

Surprises and struggles

One of the surprising parts of the job is the constant new ductwork formations their team faces while cleaning vents.

“Some of the older homes are quite creative in their venting. I have even seen some new homes where they forgot to vent the duct out of the home at all,” said Boggs. “I also find all those missing socks that get lost during laundry hiding under the dryer.”

Beyond the steep roofs, hot attics, and creative engineering, Boggs says the most challenging aspect of the business is creating a schedule that balances work and family life. Overall, he hopes to continue growing the business and supporting his family.

“You have to keep moving forward in life,” said Boggs. “I think it’s important to keep learning new things, find new passions, and work hard to provide opportunities to enjoy life.”
