Chiropractic care

Chiropractic is a form of natural healthcare concentrating on the location and removal of pressure and nerve interference. Dr. Manisha Patel, chiropractor, acupuncturist, and founder of Teera, has been around chiropractic care since she was 14 years old, and it’s become her passion in life. 

“At our office, we use a hands-on approach to healing and optimizing your overall health by restoring normal function within the nervous system,” said Dr. Patel. “Chiropractic care does not rely on the use of drugs; rather, we focus treatment on the source of the issue with a series of adjustments and acupuncture methods.”

Dr. Patel’s philosophy combines chiropractic care with both needle and needle-less (electrical) forms of acupuncture. She believes the combination of the two allows the patient to reach optimal results more effectively.

“Not every patient is the same, and I want to provide care that addresses everyone’s individual needs,” said Dr. Patel. “The core standard of my practice is service and attention. I want to give patients the attention they deserve.”

Her first patient in 2016, suffering from low back pain and difficulty walking, still comes for preventative care along with her husband and five children. From being hunched over and needing assistance to walk, she eventually walked faster, had no pain, and could even climb stairs after only a few series of adjustments. 

About the founder

Dr. Patel came from a high-performing, health-focused family, with a brother practicing optometry in Oklahoma City and a sister practicing dentistry in Las Vegas. Her household held natural healthcare, education, and hard work in high regard. 

“My parents ran a gas station and a motel when I was a child. I learned their hard-working ethics and how to treat customers with kindness,” said Dr. Patel. “I witnessed how they managed life while maintaining a full-time business. I was determined to be a business owner and had the skills and drive early on.”

Dr. Patel’s chiropractic journey started when she was a teenager, but became an integral part of her life after a back injury from a car accident during her college years. 

“I admired my chiropractor; he is the reason why I am in this profession, and I am thankful every day,” said Dr. Patel. “I graduated from chiropractic school in December 2015, got married a week later to my college sweetheart, took my Oklahoma licensing exam in May, and immediately started to find an office to practice chiropractic.”

She used gift money from her wedding to lease a previous chiropractor’s office and purchase new equipment, opening the doors to her practice in November 2016. 

A new path to wellness

Many patients coming to Teera Chiropractic are looking for answers to their health problems rather than simply sitting back and settling for treating symptoms. Dr. Patel sees more patients starting to question what health really is. 

“They’re no longer settling for what the medical model has told them for years,” said Dr. Patel. “They are waking up and coming to understand that they don’t have to live with the aches and pain.”

Her favorite part of the job is participating in the journey of an injured or ill practice member into wellness. She is there every step of the way and is driven to see results in her patients. 

“The joy in seeing the transformation in one’s life through a chiropractic adjustment is what keeps me pushing forward,” said Dr. Patel. “I wake up every day with my focus and intent on one principle: to selflessly add value to other people’s lives. It’s not about me; it’s about helping others!”
