Paving the way for healing

As a massage therapist, Thai bodyworker, yoga instructor, and embodiment coach, Lindsay Juarez opened Mindful Massage & Bodywork to help clients reconnect with their bodies.

“I want you to fall in love with your body!” Juarez said. “I specialize in chronic pain but work to help everyone find comfort and happiness right where they are. Learning to work with your body, to take care of your body, is a lifelong journey that I’d love to help with.”

Getting up and running

Juarez began her business after graduating from massage school in 2014.

“I fell in love with anatomy and physiology, with the ability to influence how a person feels through touch and movement,” she said.

Throughout the years, Juarez says she’s stayed open and curious, taking continuing education to learn new modalities, such as myoskeletal alignment, myofascial release, and Thai bodywork.

“I also went back to school to get my yoga instructor certificate, which added a whole new layer to how I can work with the body,” she said.

However, soon after her books filled up, the start of the pandemic forced her to close her doors temporarily.

“It was a hard decision, but I really felt it was the right choice for me at the time and that a door would open when it was the right time to reopen,” Juarez said. “That time came when a friend shared that she was moving her metaphysical shop, The Spunky Cauldron, to a new and bigger location that would have offices for rent. I jumped in immediately, and my business has been open since October 2021 within those walls. It’s bounced back so quickly, and I’m so thankful for all the support people have given me over the years.”

A purpose for service

For Juarez, body inclusivity is a cornerstone of Mindful Massage.

“We are here for all bodies: all genders, all shapes, all sizes, all health statuses, and all activity levels. If you have a body, we are the business for you!” she said.

Jaurez emphasizes that caring for your body is a multifaceted effort.

“I think a lot of people come in thinking what we do, massage specifically, is THE THING that will fix them,” she said. “In reality, your health and pain are made up of many different factors that require consistency and patience. We emphasize giving yourself compassion on this journey toward your goals. We recognize massage is just one piece of that and work with other professionals to refer out to get your other needs met. We listen and find solutions to fit movement and stretching into your daily habits, and we help you understand what your body may need and partner with you in getting those needs met. Building relationships with our clients is our priority and our privilege.”

And Juarez is more than just a champion for massage. She’s an experienced recipient of its benefits.

“For me, massage was helpful for pain and tension, but what it really helped me do was get quiet enough to listen to my body. Yoga came into my life and helped me go further with that. I have seen how powerful connecting to your body in an authentic and loving way can change your life, and if I can help others find a taste of that for just an hour, I’m living my purpose,” she said.

“When I’m allowing myself to do the work that lights up my soul, everything else falls into place. I love what I do, and that shows to my clients. And that’s all that matters to me.”
