Why should I use Microsoft Teams?

Become more efficient with your internal communication with Microsoft Teams.

Microsoft Teams is the fastest-growing app in Microsoft’s history. Over 300,000 companies worldwide are using it to improve communication and collaboration. Why?

Do you sometimes feel you’re drowning in emails, most of them coming from people in your own company?  Do you find yourself using the Outlook search feature trying to find the keyword that will help you resume a conversation you were having with a colleague about an important project?  Stop! Stop using email as an internal communication tool.

We stopped three years ago and have never looked back. Instead, we started using Teams as our primary internal communication tool.

Here’s an example of a company using Teams to communicate about a particular topic:

Note there are several teams, each with its own set of channels. In this example, there is a conversation within the Selfish Matters LLC Company team regarding the topic of “Company Announcements.” Imagine being on that team trying to review the history of these communications if they had happened through email!

This is but one example of why so many organizations have adopted Teams as their primary communications and collaboration tool.  Although there are many other powerful features of Teams that will enhance communication and collaboration for you, the ability to have conversations focused on a specific topic has helped us eliminate email clutter and become much more efficient and collaborative — making it my favorite feature.

Any change within an organization, especially as it relates to communication, must be made carefully. Otherwise, the inevitable stumbles along the learning curve will derail the effort. If you intend to adopt Teams, my recommendation is to start slowly with one team or department, and once using Teams becomes a habit for that group, roll it out to others.  I predict that you’ll be happy you moved to Teams.

Here’s a guide for the successful adoption of Teams.

Just remember, teamwork makes the dream work!
