Defining success in designing spaces

Flexibility and family are the cornerstones that have built AMMP Studio, a new business founded in Edmond in 2022. AMMP Studio is a full-service architecture and interior design firm offering expertise from minor tenant improvements to large-scale master planning. 

Family values

Partners Anna McBroom and Mike Patterson chose to start and lead the firm in a way that allows them to serve clients and be present with their families. They are taking advantage of the changes in the marketplace to structure the firm in a way to cultivate a meaningful family life.

Mike graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Architecture and is a dad to three young children. Anna received her Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Oklahoma Christian University. She is a mom to 4 children. 

“The past few years have changed the way the world collaborates and works, which allows for more flexibility,” McBroom said. 

Both families live in Edmond, so, naturally, they founded the business here as well. Anna is the Principal of Design and Mike serves as the Principal of Architecture, each with 15 years of experience in their field.

Services and clients

Interior design services include more than most people realize. AMMP offers full-service interior design that involves research in applicable building codes, proper bathroom calculations, life safety, and welfare knowledge, which have to be considered before ever getting to finishes.

“It is our job to take our clients’ vision and amplify it and make it a reality,” they said. 

Recent projects include Fur Lab, a dog grooming studio in Spring Creek, the Sweet Life on Broadway nutrition shop, and a master plan for Oklahoma Christian Academy. AMMP Studio works with a wide variety of clients, including restaurants, coffee shops, large upscale office buildings, churches, and universities.

“Our ideal client is someone who loves being part of a team to achieve a mutual goal,” said McBroom.  

AMMP’s goal is to connect with clients and establish long-term relationships. They want to be known for genuinely putting clients first and providing functional and beautiful spaces. 

A job well done 

Mike and Anna find success after a project is complete, and the client is proud of what was accomplished. Their families also share in their accomplishments. 

“We feel successful when our kids get excited sharing with their friends about projects that we were a part of around town,” they said. “We feel successful when we can slow down and be with our respective families.”

AMMP Studio is proud to share in their success beyond their families by supporting local nonprofits, including Focus on Home and Citizens Caring for Children. 

As the business continues to grow, Anna and Mike are working to balance new opportunities and projects with existing clients. No matter what the future holds, creating great work—and life balance—will continue to be their top priority.
