Local social media agency owner honored
Beth Brown, the owner of local social media marketing agency Shine Social Co., was recently selected by Alignable as the Edmond, Oklahoma 2022 Business Person Of The Year. This is the second year in a row Brown was chosen for this award.
“While I’m thrilled to receive this award, it’s really a testament to this entire community,” Brown said. “And it reinforces my resolve to help all of my business ‘Oklahomies’ to build and rock their business so that we’re all fulfilling our purposes.”
After years of marketing for various businesses, Brown started her agency, Shine Social Co., in 2021. She aims to help small business owners who want to show up better on social media, but lack the time or knowledge to do so themselves. Her services include social media management, training, strategy, and copywriting. She and her team can create your content for you or teach you how to do it yourself. They also write content for websites, brochures, emails, and more.
The organization recognizing Brown, Alignable, is a social networking site designed specifically with small businesses in mind. Its goal is to connect small businesses across the United States and Canada to drive leads, identify prospects and generate referrals. It went public in 2014 and currently claims over 7 million members across more than 35,000 local communities.
The 2022 Alignable contest ran from January 10 to February 11. Participants cast more than 160,000 votes and posted over 32,000 testimonials for thousands of local leaders across North America.
Brown credits winning to her passion for supporting others through their struggles.
“In our business community, you end up receiving more than you give,” said Brown. “And the challenges we’ve all encountered have compelled many of us to offer counsel and other support to peers struggling to keep their businesses afloat.”
