Exercise is essential to living a healthy lifestyle, and Edmond, Oklahoma has many awesome fitness opportunities for you to choose from. Whether you are looking for a kid-friendly gym or a variety of fitness classes to explore, Edmond is filled with great options.

Let’s learn more about those options and the people who run them.

CrossFit OKC

Opening in 2006, CrossFit OKC was Oklahoma City’s first CrossFit gym, focusing on mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and more.

CrossFit OKC prides itself on being family-friendly, never discouraging parents from bringing their children. It also offers kid-specific classes, which is rare for most CrossFit gyms. It also provides a unique specialty class for older age groups, 50 and up.

Ginny Morey, owner and operator of CrossFit OKC, has the desire to help people, and CrossFit is her way of doing it.

“I developed a healthy view of my body and saw that I was capable of so much more than I ever realized outside of sports,” said Morey. “It gave me a different kind of confidence and changed me as a person, and I want to show that to other people.”

CrossFit OKC will be running a summer challenge open to outside members beginning in April, and it will run for eight weeks. It will include weight loss goals, nutrition guidance, performance goals, and a coach and team to help keep you accountable.

The first visit is free, and CrossFit OKC welcomes anyone who wants to live a healthier lifestyle. All you have to do is walk in the door!

All Fit Collective

If you’re looking for a fitness facility that offers many different classes under one roof, All Fit Collective might be your new go-to. Candace Williams, the owner of All Fit Collective, was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder that affected her physical abilities. She needed to find a new way to ensure fitness was still part of her life, which led her to sling bungee, a lower-impact form of exercise.

Candace envisioned putting different fitness studios under one, which she shared with Crissy Mize, who is the co-owner of All Fit Collective and is a fitness trainer with a knack for exercise. Crissy instructs the HeatWave Fitness class, which is high-energy aerobic toning she developed herself using her own knowledge and experience.

“You’ll never get the same class twice. Each song is designed to hit a certain number of reps per exercise, and each rep hits on the beat of the song,” said Mize. “These classes are a full-body workout with cardio mixed in, and it typically burns 7-10 calories per minute.”

All Fit Collective’s goal is to help trainers develop and grow by charging a smaller rent fee and offering members more unique options all under one roof. Its space currently has over eight different styles of fitness to appeal to the masses, offering classes like dance cardio, sling bungee, yoga, and more!

Camp Gladiator

Camp Gladiator is a four-week progressive group fitness program led by a certified personal trainer, where every workout is different. Each “camp” is a 60-minute, full-body workout incorporating strength and cardio exercises.

What began in a parking lot in Dallas, Texas with a stack of cones has multiplied to over 3,500 locations across the country. Members of the Camp Gladiator community have access to any of the 3,500 outdoor locations across the nation by using the Camp Gladiator mobile app. It has a live, interactive virtual workout scheduled at all times of the day. Camp Gladiator launched an on-demand workout option with 30- and 60-minute classes to make finding time for a workout even easier.

At Camp Gladiator, you get an immense amount of support from the community and trainers.  One of Camp Gladiator’s foundational principles is to serve others, and you get more than just a trainer—you get an accountability partner.

“For me, it’s not just about the group fitness; it’s about the extra accountability,” said Phillip Danner, a partner trainer for Camp Gladiator. “When you don’t show up to camp, you’re going to get a call from your trainer as well as the friends you have met at camp. You get more than just a trainer who cares. You get a family that you’ve met here,”

Camp Gladiator is for all fitness levels and gives easy training access to fitness fanatics across the country, including Edmond, Oklahoma!

The fitness industry can be a tough one, but these fitness opportunities are what make the industry so great. If you’re struggling to find local workout options, check out CrossFit OKC, All Fit Collective, and Camp Gladiator. They are all waiting with open arms to help you through your fitness journey!
