Daily Living Centers (DLC) is opening a new Edmond Center on Wednesday, September 7th, at 9:30 a.m. The new facility is located at 2600 E. 2nd Street and will expand the organization’s space from 3,000 square feet or 9,000 square feet.

DLC provides non-residential affordable day services for senior adults and adults with disabilities. Their three locations serve more than 200 participants 246 days a year with an environment that enhances the mind, body, and spirit. The expanded facility will nearly triple the number of individuals DLC can serve daily.

“It’s great to see our organization grow and be able to serve Edmond in a greater capacity. The work they do here is vital to our community,” said Nelson Miller, Daily Living Centers’ Board Chair.

During the grand opening celebration, the Edmond Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting, and Stockton & Associates is sponsoring breakfast. Individuals hoping to attend should RSVP for the event

“I am incredibly excited for our grand opening. Our team works hard to serve our participants and caregivers,” said DLC President and CEO Jessica Clayton. “Moving into a new larger, beautiful building shows their dedication paying off while giving us the space to help more caregivers receive respite and their loved ones have a safe space to make friends and find purpose and joy.”

Since 1974, the goal of DLC has been to bring rest and hope to caregivers. The organization was designated as the first licensed adult daycare facility in Oklahoma and continues to be the largest adult daycare provider in the state.

At DLC locations, participants receive healthy meals, exercise programs, socialization, activities, outings, and even health monitoring from a professional staff of CNAs and LPNs. Their fleet of vehicles also provides transportation services, which include driving participants to and from their facilities, field trips, doctor’s appointments, and pharmacies.
