Tuff Shed, Inc., America’s leading supplier of storage buildings and garages, recently opened a new sales and design center in Edmond, Oklahoma.

The grand opening was held on November 11-13, 2021, a three-day event that showcased the company’s upcoming 2022 building models, special savings, prizes, and a celebratory ribbon-cutting ceremony. Alongside them was the Edmond Chamber of Commerce.

Tuff Shed’s new facility is located 22 West 15th Street on the north side of Edmond, and it will serve the company’s factory-direct retail customers. Tuff Shed’s manufacturing facility in Oklahoma City will manufacture the buildings sold to customers in and around the Edmond area.

“We are in a dynamite, high-traffic location in Edmond,” says Justin McCollough, the general manager of the Tuff Shed factory in Oklahoma City. “There is great demand for our products and services right now, and we expect to generate more than $1 Million in new sales out of the Edmond location in 2022.”

Tuff Shed has been popular in retail sales and manufacturing sectors in the U.S., having over 50 production facilities across the country. The new Edmond location and additional sales will eventually translate into more jobs, including added installation crews to keep up with demand.

Mike Casey, the chief operating officer for Tuff Shed, weighed in on what kind of employees they are looking for.

“We’re looking for people with great attitudes who can be great coworkers for our amazing team. Construction and manufacturing experience is always a plus, but we’re willing to train people with no experience who are looking for a new and stable career. In most roles, we are even paying a hiring and retention bonus as well.”

COVID-19 presented challenges to companies, including Tuff Shed. However, Tuff Shed’s response to these challenges plays a significant role in their recent success. They took additional measures to keep its employees and customers safe, such as making the change to virtual appointments, taking extra cleaning precautions, properly social distancing, and more.

“The safety of our employees, community, and customers is our top concern,” says Tuff Shed Founder and President Tom Saurey. “We responded to this crisis early and have continued to practice social distancing rules, require mask use, and are working on keeping all of our facilities cleaner than ever.”

The pandemic also created an urge for unique buildings. Tuff Shed provided buildings to homeowners to be used as office space, homeschooling space, storage, etc. Additionally, Tuff Shed installed structures to be used at health care facilities across several states as part of COVID-19 testing.

Tuff Shed was founded by Tom Saucy in 1981 in Rexburg, Idaho, eventually moving headquarters to Denver five years later. The company was awarded the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2004, ColoradoBiz Magazine’s Manufacturing Company of the Year in 2004, and Denver Business Journal’s Deal Makers of the Year Award in 2005.

The Home Depot recognized Tuff Shed as its Service Provider of the Year, once in 2007 and once in 2015. Tuff Shed is a service and install partner for The Home Depot, offering exclusive building products to all of their home improvement stores across 48 states.

Tuff Shed works with its customers to design and accessorize buildings, pre-fabricating key building components to deliver and install buildings on a customer’s site. Throughout 40 years of hard work, Tuff Shed has designed, fabricated, and installed more than 1.4 million buildings in the U.S. Tuff Shed celebrated its 40th anniversary in August of 2021.
