Tim is a public speaker, author, publisher of Edmond Business, and the owner of Backslash Creative. He helps businesses that are worried they don’t have the expertise or time required to invest in doing their own digital marketing. He helps them plan where and how much to invest and often helps execute the plan.
Tim started the Edmond Business online magazine in May 2020 to fill a need in the community when The Edmond Sun shut down and stopped publishing their monthly magazine, The Business Times.
One of four campuses operated by Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children, Boys Ranch Town is a residential home for boys between the ages of 7 and 15. Located on the outskirts of Edmond, it offers a structured environment for its residents with the goal of being reunited with their families.
An Edmond native, Sheryl Janis and her husband, Joe, have built their lives in and around the community, including their business. The two own and operate Autoworks Japanese Auto Repair, where they’ve been serving families for generations.

The Edmond Public Schools Foundation serves the students of Edmond Public Schools through strategic focus areas, including mental health support for students, the Art in Schools program, classroom support through DonorsChoose, educator professional development, a Student Ambassador program, and community mobilization.
Driven by service, Erin Engelke has spent much of her career in the nonprofit sector. After moving her family to Edmond more than 25 years ago, she’s worked tirelessly to bring hope to other families in the metro, especially in her current role as executive director of Calm Waters, Central Oklahoma’s grief center.
In today’s ever-changing digital age, having a website is essential for any business or nonprofit that wants to stay relevant and be found by potential customers, clients, donors, and volunteers. Founder and executive director Jennifer Abney began Angels Foster Family Network OKC in 2008 after seeing a gap in support for Oklahoma foster families. Nearly 13,000 children were in foster care in Oklahoma at the time of the founding, and stories of abuse and neglect in foster homes were flooding the news. Abney wanted to find a way to create more positive outcomes for children across the state.
Justin DeMoss has lived in cities across the country, but Edmond takes the top spot as his favorite. Not only did he move his family here, but he also recently opened a business here. After many years of experience in fundraising, he decided to support people in his own way—helping them get better sleep as the owner of Factory Direct Mattress Edmond.
