Clay Collier is a Financial Advisor at FrontPoint Wealth Management, LLC, formerly known as David Dick Financial, LLC. Born and raised in Edmond, Clay has deep ties to the community, from his days as a soccer player at Oklahoma Christian University to his current role helping individuals and businesses navigate their financial futures.

Q: Do you live in Edmond, work in Edmond, or both?

A: I live in Edmond and we are officed in downtown Edmond. I have lived in Edmond my entire life and I started working in Edmond in 2020 and have been working here ever since.

Q: Where did you go to school?

A: I grew up going to St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic school through fifth grade, then I went to Sequoyah Middle School and then Edmond North for high school.

After high school, I attended Oklahoma Christian University where I played college soccer.

Q: What did you do before getting involved at FrontPoint?

A: I graduated college with a double major in accounting and finance. This led me into public accounting right out of college, where I started my professional career with Grant Thornton as an Auditor. I then accepted an opportunity with Arledge & Associates in 2020, which brought me back to working in Edmond. I was with Arledge & Associates until November 2021.

Q: How did you start at FrontPoint Wealth Management?

A: After working as an Auditor for Arledge for around a year, I realized that I wasn’t enjoying accounting and felt like I needed a career change. I then got connected with David Dick through a mutual friend of ours, and I decided to quit my job with Arledge in November of 2021 to start studying for my securities licenses.

I started working with David at David Dick Financial in January 2022 and was fully licensed (Series 7, Series 66, SIE, Life and Health) as a Financial Advisor in July of 2022. Making this career change was a leap of faith, but it was the best decision I could’ve made for myself and my family.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: My favorite part about my job is getting to develop a relationship and friendship with my clients and help them achieve their financial goals. Each and every day of my job is different which brings an element of unpredictability that I enjoy. One day, I may be helping a college student set up a Roth IRA or writing a financial plan for a family, and the next day, I am working with an Edmond business owner on the retirement benefits for their company.

Q: What’s something you’re passionate about in your personal life?

A: I have more recently become passionate about being active. Whether that is working out, taking a walk with my family or even playing a round of golf with friends. I think being active is so important for your personal health and also gives me that mental break from work that I believe is important.

I am also the assistant coach for the men’s varsity soccer team at Edmond North so that is another way I stay active and enjoy time outside.

Q: What’s an accomplishment you’re the proudest of?

A: I think becoming a dad is the best accomplishment and most proud moment of my life. You truly never know what to expect when you’re entering that stage of life becoming a parent, but it has been the most amazing and fulfilling experience being a girl dad.

It doesn’t matter if you have a bad day at work when you come home to a beautiful and happy daughter who is eager to see you with a smile on her face.

Q: What is one of the big goals you’d like to accomplish in the next decade?

A: A main goal of mine is to build strong relationships with my clients and help grow FrontPoint Wealth Management as a financial firm in Edmond that our clients can trust.

Q:What do you like about Edmond?

A: The thing I love most about Edmond is the people and Edmond’s willingness to support small businesses. Being a part of Edmond Young Professionals and the Edmond Chamber has helped show me how much Edmond takes care of its small businesses and uses its resources to ensure they support all of those businesses in any way they can. It is also a great place to raise a family which was an important factor when deciding where to plant our roots and begin to grow our family.

Q: What is your number one tip for other young professionals, either for work or life?

A: My best piece of advice that I learned is to find a job where you love what you do. It doesn’t matter how much money a job can pay you. If you do not enjoy your job, you will find yourself in an unhappy and unhealthy position.

I also think its super important to get out of your comfort zone and expand your network to as many individuals as possible. Don’t get stuck being content with where you are at. There is always room for growth in your professional career.
