Jim Denton receives Public Service Award
Jim Denton, CPA and Partner at Arledge and Associates, was honored with the Public Service Award at the recent Oklahoma Society of CPAs awards ceremony. Denton, a frequent contributor to Edmond Business, was recognized for his outstanding dedication to both the accounting profession and his community.
Author Paul W. White releases middle grade fantasy novel
Paul W. White’s middle grade fantasy novel, Starlight and the Elf Stone, is now live on Amazon, marking an exciting milestone for the Edmond-based author. White will also host a launch party at Best of Books on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 12:30 PM, where signed copies will be available for purchase. Supporters who cannot attend the event can still purchase the book through Amazon or directly from White, with options for signed copies available locally. Special thanks were extended to the illustrator Zuzana Randáková, publisher Matthew Claybrook, and designer Samuel Chinchilla.
Edmond Library marks over 50 years in the chamber
The Edmond Library recently celebrated over 50 years as a member of the Edmond community and the Edmond Area Chamber of Commerce. As the busiest library in the Metropolitan Library System, the Edmond Library circulates more than one million items annually. Since its opening in 1967, the library has undergone several expansions, with the largest renovation completed in 2000. It offers a variety of services, including public computer use, free Wi-Fi, mobile printing, and meeting rooms for public use.
Real Deals celebrates one year in Edmond
Real Deals, a locally owned and operated home decor and boutique shop in Edmond, is celebrating its first anniversary at 610 S Kelly Ave Suite P. The store offers a wide variety of home decor items, including clocks, mirrors, furniture, seasonal decor, and more. Their boutique features the latest styles in clothing and accessories, with sizes ranging from S to 3XL. Owners Aspen and Patrick opened Real Deals in August 2023 after relocating to Edmond, bringing Aspen’s passion for fashion and home decorating to the community.
Innovative Pharmacy Solutions marks 26 years
Innovative Pharmacy Solutions is celebrating 26 years of serving the Edmond community. Founded in 1998 by pharmacist Dave Mason as a compounding-only practice, the pharmacy has expanded to include services like hormone replacement consultations, clinical nutrition, and veterinary specialty compounding. They also offer a range of high-quality, pharmaceutical-grade nutritional supplements. With a holistic approach to wellness, Innovative Pharmacy Solutions focuses on prevention and therapeutic lifestyle support under the expertise of pharmacists Dave Mason and Kyle Panter.
Oklahoma Swim Academy opens in Edmond
Oklahoma Swim Academy has officially opened its new location at 420 S. Bryant Ave in Edmond. This family-owned swimming school offers year-round, personalized private swim lessons in warm water pools, catering to all ages. Specializing in infant survival and toddler swim lessons, the academy uses the Swim-Float-Swim method to teach life-saving self-rescue skills. With a mission to ‘Swim with Purpose,’ the academy donates 10% of profits to support local nonprofits and individuals in need, making it a community-focused business with a meaningful impact.
