Touchmark at Coffee Creek, known for providing full-service retirement living, is enhancing its offerings with 31 new villas on its 25-acre campus in Edmond. The villas target active adults over 55 seeking a blend of independence and community support.

The newly constructed Villas at Touchmark offers two-bedroom, two-bathroom homes with modern amenities, including a large front porch, private patio, and a single-car garage. They are designed for those scaling down from larger homes but still desiring active lifestyles.

Meeting demand

James Duehning, executive director of Touchmark at Coffee Creek, explained the community’s expansion as a response to local demand. “Today, people over 55 are healthier and more active than previous generations, and they want their community to support that lifestyle,” Duehning said. He emphasized that the villas cater to seniors who desire less space but the same quality of life, with services such as housekeeping, maintenance, and dining options.

The expansion reflects broader trends where seniors prefer living independently in their homes for as long as possible. According to the University of Michigan’s National Poll on Healthy Aging, around 88% of seniors express this preference but find home ownership increasingly burdensome with age.

Amenities

Touchmark’s approach aims to alleviate these burdens by providing routine maintenance performed by community staff, thus freeing residents’ time for recreational and leisure activities. “We take care of the little things like housekeeping and maintenance, so our residents can enjoy their grandchildren’s games or local plays without the worry of home upkeep,” Duehning added during a detailed discussion about the community’s services.

The new villas, located next to Touchmark’s main building, offer easy access to the community’s amenities, including a restaurant, health and fitness studio, and various social activities. Thus, residents do not have to travel far to enjoy a full and active life.

“These villas are built right next to our main building, providing easy access to our dining rooms, bar, and activities, essentially ensuring that our residents are just a quick walk or golf cart ride away from any service they need,” Duehning highlighted.

Future plans

Since its opening in 2005, Touchmark at Coffee Creek has established itself as a leader in senior living. It offers a continuum of care, from independent living to assisted living and memory care, and engages residents in a vibrant community life that includes award-winning health and wellness programs.

With the villas completed and nearly sold out, Touchmark plans to continue adapting to the needs of Edmond’s seniors, providing them with quality housing options that support their desire for an active, independent lifestyle well into retirement.
